It’s been a whole year since I first opened the doors to Heathcote General Trader.
What began as a quiet idea to create a space that celebrated the beauty of everyday living, has grown into something more layered, more connected and more meaningful than I could have imagined. This past year has been a dance of early mornings and late nights, of conversations across the counter, of hand-selecting objects that I truly believe in and watching them find their way into your homes.
The store has always been rooted in slowness. In thoughtful choices. In the beauty of well-made things. And like anything living and growing, it’s beginning to evolve.
This spring marks a new chapter as I introduce clothing to the shelves: pieces chosen with the same care and intentionality as everything else in the store. Natural fibres, timeless cuts and items made to be worn again and again. It feels like an organic extension of what the store already is... a place for simple things, honestly made.
I’m endlessly grateful to everyone who has stepped through the door, shared a kind word, brought a friend, or even followed along from afar. Your support allows me to keep shaping this little corner of Heathcote into something warm, real and enduring.
Here’s to what comes next.
