My Home Featured in Country Style

My Home Featured in Country Style

I’m so thrilled to share that my home has been featured in the November edition of Country Style Magazine. To see our little piece of Tooborac captured on those pages is both humbling and affirming, a reminder of why home is so central to everything I do, both personally and through Heathcote General Trader.

Why Home Matters

For me, home is not just where I rest my head, it’s where I slow down. In a world that rushes, I find comfort in creating spaces that ask you to pause, breathe and notice the small details. Home is where the seasons guide me, where I find inspiration and where my love for styling and curating comes to life most naturally.

A Stylist’s Heart

Styling has always been more than arranging objects, it’s storytelling. My store is filled with carefully chosen pieces that tell a story of craftsmanship, material and place. My home is no exception. Each corner is a reflection of what I value: authenticity, beauty and connection.

Why Tooborac?

When we first discovered Tooborac, just ten minutes out of Heathcote, we immediately felt its rugged calm. The land spoke to us... open, quiet and full of character. From our windows, the ranges rise up and the light shifts across the day. It felt right to build a home here, close enough to the larger town of Heathcote but tucked away where life slows to its own steady rhythm.

Bringing Nature In

I’ve always believed in working with nature rather than against it. I use natural elements: stone, timber, linen, greenery and anything dried and fossilised to create a sense of groundedness. I love mixing old with new, layering antiques and family treasures with clean-lined modern pieces. It’s that blend that makes a space feel lived-in, warm and enduring. The outdoors always finds its way inside, whether through an old tree branch or twigs on the table, a bowl of collected pinecones or seed pods, or simply the way the light filters across the floor from the large windows.

Living the Story

This feature in Country Style feels like a celebration of what I’ve been quietly building with my husband... not just a home, but a way of life. A slower rhythm. A deeper connection to place. A belief that how we live day-to-day is just as important as what we surround ourselves with.

I’m so grateful to be able to share my home and story with you and to keep weaving that same ethos into the store, for you to take a little piece of it into your own homes.
